Print BPL & ZPL Scripts Using a Generic Driver

These instructions download a generic driver to the computer. This can be used to test print ZPL or BPL scripts.

 

 

1. Open Control Panel on the computer. 

 

 

2. Click Devices and Printers.

 

 

3. Click Devices.

 

 

4. Scroll to the bottom and click More devices and printer settings.

 

5. Click Add a printer.

 

6. Click The printer that I want isn't listed.

 

7. Click the radio button for Add a printer using an IP address or hostname. 

 

 

8. Click Next.

 

 

9. Select the Device type and enter in the Hostname or IP address.

 

10. Click Next.

 

 

 

11. If the successful page appears, proceed to the next step.
    1. Click Next.

 

1. 2. Select Generic for the Manufacturer.

 

1. 3. Click Generic / Text Only and click Next.

 

1. 4. Adjust the Printer name, if applicable. Click Next.

 

12. Click Finish.

 

13. Paste the script into Notepad or use your preferred software/text editor and then print it using the newly added generic driver.
